1. Floola is meant to be run off of the ipod, so each ipod needs its own copy of floola. But yes you can use floola on any pc with any number of ipods.

2. Update to 4.9

Would it ever be possible to put some sort of search function in Floola? It seems that when I want to quickly find one particular song in my ever growing library, there’s quite a bit of scrolling and searching that must be done before I land on the right song. Lack of a search function certainly isn’t a deal breaker for me, but it would sure be handy.

Thanks for a great program.

Best,

What’s wrong with the search box on the bottom left of window?

Yes, I am the world’s biggest dope!

I confess that I have no idea how the search box in the lower left managed to escape my notice. It is now my new favorite thing!

1a. Podcasts — I’d like to be able to select which podcasts get downloaded (Last newest, All new, 20 newest, etc.) *individually*, per feed, and not just globaly as it seems to be now. Some Podcasts I only ever want the newest one, like news podcasts (Marketplace), where if it’s older than now, I don’t want it, whereas some other podcasts, I’d like to have a bunch to listen to, older ones as well as the latest (Prairie Home Companion). Right now I have to choose either to get a bunch of old, irrelevant Marketplaces cluttering things up, or only have the newest, latest Prarie Home Companion, unless I want to get in there and each time individually choose what to get.

1b. Same goes for the delete options — I’d like to choose *per feed* whether it gets deleted, and how often. Also, I’d like the delete options to go down to “daily”, so I can automatically delete everything except today’s (or yesterday’s if today’s is not out yet) Marketplace, but keep a week’s worth of Fresh Air, for example.

1c. Also, would there be a way for it to remember and apply the “Remember Playback Position” for all podcasts from a certain source? For some reason, not all the podcasts I download are properly set for the “Remember Playback Position”, so I have to go in and change it; unfortunately, that’s only as good as the individual podcast — download the new one, and the Remember playback position is unchecked again… As far as I’m concerned, all Podcasts should have the “Remember Playback Position” option enabled automatically, as well as the “Skip when shuffling”.

2. Additionally for podcasts: I’d like to be able to add mp3 files I have already downloaded to the Podcast section of my ipod. I have a bunch of files for old BBC radio shows (like “Just a Minute”) that I would like to play as if they were podcasts — show up in podcast section, remember play position, delete after listening, etc. I can probably fake some of that by pretending they were audiobooks, but that’s not really what they are. They are podcasts without an rss feed… (I suppose I could build my own rss feed — nah, that’s getting needlessly complicated If I could just pick the song kind to be “Podcast”…

3. Syncronization folders: I really like the advanced get tag info from filename option when adding files — I would like to be able to apply it to the files loaded in from the automatically syncronized folder. I just dumped a batch of a radio show in the folder, and unfortunately the id tags all gave them the exact same title, the name of the show, and not the name of the episode, which is in the filename. So I have twenty episodes of this show showing up all with the exact same name; had it gotten info from the filename, it would actually differentiate and show the name of the episode. In fact, I think the get info from file name should be the default behavior in ALL instances, unless told otherwise. Anytime a tag is missing or incomplete, it should default to reading the file name for info. I don’t know how many files I have named in the form “Artist – Song” that don’t have any tags at all, so they show up as Unknown….

Thanks for a great product! The length of my post reflects how much and how seriously I am using it! :-)

Is it possible to make Floola change the tags of the audio files to reflect the changes made from the program instead of only changing the entries in the iPod’s library?

Maybe as a separate command like the one for saving artwork, if it takes time. Or directly when changes are made if not.

I’ve skimmed through the thread and I didn’t find anyone requesting the same thing, I apologize if I missed it.

When copying from iPod back to pc tags will be rewritten if the “Write file tags (slower copy)” option is selected (in the advanced section of the copy window).

I have a suggestion that I think will be a HUGE benefit for everyone. I like that you can see how much space is free in the bottom right of the program, but if I’m trying to delete an album to free up more space (I have a 4th gen 8GB Nano) I would like to be able to click on the album and have the total space of the album show up in the bottom right, or at least be able to right click and do properties to find the total space. Sometimes I remove the albums from my hard drive, so my only way to find out the total space is to add all the song sizes, or just delete it, which I normally do the latter. I have waited since 3.something for this and I still can’t find it so I thought I’d suggest it.
