First, thanks for the program. After iTunes refused to sync my iPod shuffle (2nd generation) a few months ago, I came across floola. It’s a very good program and I’m not going back to iTunes, if I can help it.
As mentioned, I have a 2nd generation iPod Shuffle, with 2Gb of capacity. I’ve pretty much filled it with podcasts.
Over the last couple of days, I’ve noticed that podcasts that I’ve downloaded using floola show up in floola but when I use the iPod, they don’t play. I can play the podcasts through floola on my PC, but not through my iPod.
I’m not sure of what version of floola I’m using, but I installed it in March 2010.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
McCoy
Download a podcast to the desktop and then move over to the ipod. See if it plays that way. Make sure the podcast is in mp3 format, not a video or mp4 format.
Also, Floola might be a little much for a 2nd gen shuffle. Try http://ipod.capacala.com/ as an itunes alternative as well.
Thanks for the suggestion, Sid.
I thought I had the problem licked because it went away, but now it’s come back with a vengeance.
It seems to affect podcasts from a particular broadcaster (the Sky Business Channel in Australia). The podcasts download fine through Floola and I can play them through Floola when my iPod is connected to my PC through the dock, but when I disconnect my iPod and try to listen to the podcasts directly, they are skipped.
I will have to try the download to the podcast and then over to the iPod to see if that works.
Oh, I wanted to also add that I hope to not have to use that other program because it wants me to wipe my iPod clean, and I have a fair few podcasts on the list I haven’t listened to yet!
Post link to the rss feed you are using for podcasts and let us know which podcasts you are having problems with. Name, date, etc.
Hi Sid, having a problem with the podcasts from the following rss feed:
http://www.skynews.com.au/podcast/feeds/marketday.xml
The podcasts were being downloaded during the middle of last week, but wouldn’t play, unless I played them through the computer, with the iPod attached.
What do you mean by not play? Can you select them on your ipod? What happens if you forward a bit into them? etc, etc.. more details please..

Hi Sid
I download the podcast from the rss feed to the iPod and I can see the podcast downloaded via Floola.
However, when I disconnect the iPod and start to use it, random podcasts (but always the Business Channel podcasts) are not played. They do not even start but are skipped to the next podcast.
What if you download them as mp3s and copy them over?
What if you select them though the podcast menu?
Can you fast forward into them a bit?
What if you use http://ipod.capacala.com? you can copy over the entire shuffle to your HD and then copy back later.
